WEAR WHITE
Nearly 3,000 years ago, the daughters of Jerusalem would dress in white and dance in the vineyards beneath the full moon—celebrating life, love, and the renewal that follows loss.
Tu B’Av, the Festival of Love, emerges from the ashes of destruction in the first half of the month of Av. In this fire-sign month of the Aryeh (Lion), the flames of sorrow transform into the fire of passion and courageous love.
Tu B’Av is also an ancient agricultural holiday—when olives swelled with oil and white squill flowers bloomed across the fields. Women wore white to merge with the blossoms as they danced, embodying the abundance of the season.
In the wisdom of Kabbalah, white symbolizes Chesed, the radiant flow of loving-kindness from the Divine. Let us don white and remember: we, too, are vessels of that sacred love.
Pre-registration is a must!
(Ora needs an accurate number of participants ahead of time so she can prepare enough materials and dyes!)
